Creator Shinya Murata and artist Daichi Matsuse have officially launched a brand-new manga series titled Shinoblade SHINOBI BLADE. The debut took place within Kadokawa and Kakao Piccoma's joint e-manga magazine, Manga BAR. For this new venture, Murata takes the helm on writing and storyboarding duties, while Matsuse brings the world to life through his detailed illustrations.
The narrative centers on an elite female ninja who previously operated entirely within the shadows of historical figure Hattori Hanzō. In a fateful twist, the moment of her death acts as a threshold, transporting her consciousness straight into an unfamiliar fantasy realm.
Creative Pedigree
Both creators bring substantial industry experience to the table. Shinya Murata is widely recognized for penning high-concept action stories, including the brutal martial arts manga Killing Bites illustrated by Kazasa Sumita, which received a television anime adaptation in 2018. More recently, Murata launched Akujo Ranking alongside Wakata Wakuta.
Meanwhile, Daichi Matsuse has built a versatile portfolio across fantasy adaptations and original dramas. Matsuse previously illustrated Goblin Slayer: A Day in the Life with storywriter Kumo Kagyu, as well as manga adaptations for major franchises like Re:ZERO -Starting Life In Another World-.
