Seven years after its initial theatrical run in Japan, The Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki) movie has finally received an official English dub courtesy of Crunchyroll. Fans of the brutal military isekai genre have spent nearly a decade waiting for this continuation to be localized in English, bridging the gap between the first television season and future franchise installments.
Produced by Studio NUT, the film follows Major Tanya Degurechaff and the Imperial Army as they face new geopolitical threats and internal military bureaucracy following the events of the 2017 anime adaptation. The long-awaited release of the English dub allows completionists and returning viewers to experience the strategic warfare and relentless action with localized vocal performances.
With the franchise continuing to maintain a dedicated global following, this surprise release sets the stage for renewed interest in the series, especially as audiences await further updates regarding the previously announced second season of the anime.
