Known for her haunting vocals and emotional delivery, artist ReoNa sat down with Megami Magazine to discuss her latest single, 'Amore', which serves as the opening theme song for the television anime adaptation of Kimiga Shinu made Koi o Shitai. Having been a devoted reader of Aono Nachi’s original manga series prior to her involvement, ReoNa approached the production with deep personal investment, focusing the track on the fragile nature of love and human connection within the story's grim setting.
Discussing the musical composition arranged by Pan (LIVE LAB.), ReoNa explained the delicate balance required to capture the dark atmosphere of the series, where children in isolated boarding schools face immense emotional and physical trials. Rather than leaning purely into unbridled joy or absolute despair, the song strives for an empathetic middle ground. The accompanying music video further mirrors this aesthetic, featuring a ballet dancer whose passionate, dialogue-free choreography complements the ethereal fantasy elements of the anime.
The single also features diverse B-side tracks tailored to different physical editions. These include 'Sore wa Mahou deshita', composed by Hayashi Kei as a thematic counterpart exploring the miraculous nature of everyday existence, and 'Shintsuu', a track that taps into ReoNa's signature melancholic style to offer silent comfort during moments of deep emotional pain. Additionally, the folk-inspired track 'Yuyu no Uta' incorporates traditional instruments from her hometown of Amami Oshima.
With her upcoming 'De:TOUR' concert series and first-ever arena performances on the horizon, ReoNa continues to cement her presence in the anime music landscape. The single 'Amore' is currently available via SACRA MUSIC, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the complex emotional tapestry of the series.
