Bandai Namco Entertainment and simulation developer Kairosoft have officially lifted the curtain on One Piece: Grand Gourmet, a brand-new cooking management simulation set within the sprawling maritime universe created by Eiichiro Oda. Alongside the announcement, the publisher debuted a fresh promotional video titled "A Day in a Rookie Staff Member's Life," giving players an extensive look at the restaurant management loop, interior customisation mechanics, and character interactions.
Scheduled for a worldwide launch on October 23, the title will be available across a broad spectrum of platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android devices. In a notable platform reveal, the game is also slated to arrive on Nintendo's successor console, currently referred to as the Nintendo Switch 2.
The narrative premise places players in the shoes of a fresh culinary recruit working alongside the Straw Hat Pirates' master chef, Sanji, to manage a brand-new iteration of the legendary floating restaurant, Baratie. The gameplay loop combines traditional simulation mechanics with series-specific lore, allowing chefs-in-training to whip up iconic dishes inspired by the manga, harness Devil Fruit abilities to expedite food preparation, and fully customise their dining establishment.
According to the developer's feature breakdown, the simulation will boast an expansive roster featuring over 400 characters from the franchise, providing fans with frequent interactions with familiar faces from various arcs. Meanwhile, the long-running television adaptation by Toei Animation continues to captivate audiences worldwide, having recently launched its highly anticipated Elbaph arc this past April with streaming support via Crunchyroll.
