The production committee behind Now That We Draw (Kakunaru Ue wa) has officially revealed the opening theme song for the upcoming romantic comedy series. Musical act Shallm will perform the track titled “Kimiiro Hirari,” which the band first premiered live during their ANTI AFTER SCHOOL EP tour.
Musical Vision and Production Background
Discussing her inspiration for the opening theme, Shallm vocalist Lia shared deep personal parallels with the series' core premise. She noted that after reading the source material, she connected profoundly with the struggles and wonder of chasing creative aspirations alongside someone else, mirroring her own musical journey.
I created the song while cherishing the emotions the manga gave me. I’d be happy if you enjoy “Kimiiro Hirari” along with the series.

Staff, Cast and Plot Overview
Scheduled to premiere in January 2027, Now That We Draw is animated by studio ROLL2 under the direction of Shunsuke Ishikawa. The creative team features a robust roster of industry talent, including Deko Akao handling series composition and scriptwriting, Hiromi Nakagawa and Momoka Izumi on character designs, and Yoshiaki Miura composing the musical score.
Voice actors Ayumu Murase and Sayumi Suzushiro lead the cast as Yuuki Uehara and Nina Miyamoto, two aspiring manga creators whose editors insist their romance lacks authenticity. Lacking personal experience in love, the duo decides to simulate a real relationship to spark genuine inspiration.
The series adapts the original manga created by Kyu Takahata and Yuwji Kaba, which has been serialized in Hakusensha's Young Animal magazine since February 2023. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English edition of the manga for international readers.
