Three Generations of Unbeatable Martial Arts
Adapted from Kawahara's acclaimed manga universe, Mutsu Enmei-ryuu Gaiden: Shura no Toki chronicles the bloodline of the Mutsu family, practitioners of an ancient bare-handed martial art capable of defeating armed opponents without wielding a blade. The narrative is structured across three distinct historical sagas:
- Miyamoto Musashi Arc: Set in early Edo-period Japan, depicting intense clashes between the legendary swordsman and Mutsu Yakumo.
- Kanei Gozen Matches Arc: Set during the Kanei era, centering on political intrigue and duels involving Yagyu Jubei and Mutsu Takato.
- Bakumatsu Arc: Set during the turbulent fall of the Tokugawa shogunate, featuring encounters with Sakamoto Ryoma and the Shinsengumi.
