Franchise Background & Origins
The isekai fantasy light novel series is penned by author Fire head and illustrated by KeG. Originally launched as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro platform, the story was later acquired by TO Books, which published the first print volume in May 2021. A manga adaptation illustrated by Pochi Edoya followed later that year, while international publisher J-Novel Club handles the English digital releases for both formats.
The narrative follows Mercedes Grunewald, born as a vampire to a noble father and his ostracized concubine. Anticipating a future where she and her mother are cast aside, young Mercedes begins grueling dungeon training at an early age to secure her family's survival in a harsh fantasy world.
