The whimsical fantasy world of light novels is expanding once again, as Yasuaki Mikami and Kinta's Looks like a Job for a Maid! The Tales of a Dismissed Supermaid (known in Japanese as Maid nara Tozen desu. Nureginu o Kiserareta Banno Maid-san wa Tabi ni derukoto ni shimashita) prepares to make the leap to television screens. Originally launched as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Naro back in 2021 before finding a permanent home under Earth Star Novel in July 2022, the series has captured readers with its charming blend of domestic prowess and grand fantasy adventure.
Earth Star Novel's publication line has continually championed imaginative storytelling, and the upcoming ninth volume on October 15, 2026, marks another milestone for the expanding franchise. Alongside the original light novels, the property also boasts a manga adaptation illustrated by Ayahito Kumagai, bridging prose and sequential art to bring Nina's journey to life.
The story follows Nina, a modest and dedicated maid working in the household of Count Mirkwood. When a sudden, unjust false accusation casts her out onto the unfamiliar streets, she embarks on her first solo journey. Far from ordinary, Nina's hidden supermaid talents soon become a beacon of hope for the eccentric and troubled individuals she encounters along the way.
There’s Emily, a mage who can’t use magic; Astrid, a brilliant inventor whose experiments never quite work; and Tien, an orphan who can’t seem to keep a meal down. Meanwhile, back at the Mirkwood household, things go awry in Nina’s absence…
