The scientific voyage of the Kingdom of Science is far from over. Following the conclusion of Dr. STONE: SCIENCE FUTURE, production has been officially greenlit for a brand-new sequel anime titled Dr. STONE TERRAFORMING. The surprise reveal arrived alongside an announcement video with newly recorded lines from Senku Ishigami, signaling that the franchise will step beyond the original main storyline.
The upcoming project directly adapts the bonus sequel storyline "TERRAFORMING," featured in Volume 27 of the manga created by writer Riichiro Inagaki and illustrator Boichi. Original creators shared their excitement during the announcement, celebrating that Senku's scientific exploits will receive yet another animated chapter.
Thank you to everyone watching STONE FES. 2026! The Dr. STONE anime actually made it all the way to the final chapter of the original manga. I was deeply moved. And yet, somehow! There’s still more…!! It wasn’t a lie! After all, Senku and the others’ scientific adventure was still continuing. Actually, that kind of lie is more than welcome! You can even say this finale event being the finale was a lie too! So everyone, please watch over Senku and the others’ science for just a little while longer. This is insanely exhilarating!!
Riichiro Inagaki, Original Creator

Boichi, Manga Artist
To commemorate the announcement, anime character designer Yuko Iwasa released an illustration celebrating the production of the sequel.
