Anime fans across North America will soon have the chance to experience a unique cinematic reinterpretation of a timeless literary classic. Crunchyroll has announced that it will screen Dive in Wonderland (Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland-) in select theaters for a special one-night-only engagement on November 16 as part of its ongoing monthly theatrical showcase series.
Produced by acclaimed animation studio P.A. Works, this project marks a historic milestone as Japan's first full-scale anime film adaptation of Lewis Carroll's celebrated children's novel. The narrative introduces a modern-day protagonist named Rise, who unexpectedly falls into a whimsical realm and encounters the traditional figures of Wonderland alongside Alice herself.
Production Pedigree and Stellar Cast
The creative team behind the production brings together remarkable industry veterans. Director Toshiya Shinohara, known for his work on Black Butler and A Lull in the Sea, leads the project at P.A. Works, working alongside scriptwriter Yūko Kakihara. Musical composition is handled by kotringo, while popular musical group SEKAI NO OWARI contributes the official theme song titled "Zukan".
