While addressed almost universally by Conan Edogawa and the Junior Detective League as “Hakase” (Professor), his legal given name is actually Agasa Hiroshi (阿笠 博士), written with the kanji for professor but pronounced Hiroshi. Despite his elderly appearance and grandfatherly role as the keeper of Shinichi Kudo and Ai Haibara's identities, the bachelor inventor is canonically just 52 years old.

The iconic anime adaptation produced by TMS Entertainment is actively marking its 30th broadcast anniversary with an ambitious slate of crossover events and television specials across 2026. Recent months featured high-profile crossovers spanning the Pretty Cure franchise in June, the professional J-League in July, and the legendary Japan International Birdman Rally in August.
The celebratory campaign culminates on September 25 with a landmark broadcast on Nippon TV's Friday Roadshow. The network will premiere Detective Conan: Case 30 Murder Case, marking the legendary franchise's first full two-hour episodic television special in over a decade.
