Netflix has released an electrifying new sneak peek video for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, showcasing a high-stakes escape sequence from a heavily fortified Arasaka building. The upcoming project brings back the grit and neon-soaked tragedy of the original universe while charting an entirely independent course.
A Fresh Chronicle of Redemption
According to the production team, the upcoming series delivers a standalone 10-episode narrative set within the sprawling dystopia of CD Projekt Red's gaming universe. Framed as a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge, the story poses a provocative question: when the world is blinded by corporate spectacle, what extreme measures are necessary to make a story truly matter?
The dual-language voice cast features standout talent across Japanese and English tracks. The roster includes Momoka Terasawa and Valeria Rodriguez as Roman Carax, Akari Kitō and Kimoy Lee as Talia Yang, Kōki Uchiyama and Nazeeh Tarsha as D, alongside Kentarō Tone and Clancy Brown rounding out the primary ensemble as Weak Kingsley.
Creative Lineup and Musical Identity
Stepping into the director's chair for his feature debut is Kai Ikarashi, whose extensive pedigree on the original series includes key animation, storyboarding, and prop design. Returning franchise architect Bartosz Sztybor from CD Projekt Red is back writing the scripts alongside veteran writer Masahiko Otsuka, while Ichigo Kanno takes the lead character designer mantle.
The auditory landscape of the series leans heavily into alternative and modern sounds. The opening theme features The Cure's 1978 track "10:15 Saturday Night," paired with Petite Meller's "Watson" as the ending theme. Additionally, rapper Rico Nasty penned the hard-hitting track "YOU CAN'T RUN FROM ME," featured prominently in previous teaser materials.
The 10-episode series is officially slated to debut on Netflix on October 20, following an exclusive first-episode premiere screening held earlier this summer at Anime Expo.
