The Crunchyroll Store has updated its catalog, and it no longer lists physical manga or light novels for sale. Other physical books for Korean manhwa and Chinese danmei titles have also been completely removed from the listings. ANN reached out to Crunchyroll for clarification, but the company declined to respond.
This change follows Crunchyroll's previous announcement in July detailing that its store would transition in August to become exclusive to the company's Mega and Ultimate Fan subscription tiers. The newly updated store features curated drops, exclusive merchandise, select collectibles, Blu-ray Discs, and apparel.
Prior to the update, select items were designated as "final sale," meaning returns or refunds were only accepted if the product arrived damaged or defective. Open orders are continuing to process and ship normally, including those released after the store transition. However, the company temporarily halted the acceptance of store gift cards, and existing membership store discount benefits have concluded.
Crunchyroll previously acquired major anime and manga retailer Right Stuf in August 2022 to expand its e-commerce footprint, eventually migrating Right Stuf products to the Crunchyroll Store in October 2023. These legacy products remained available until the recent overhaul. This shift in e-commerce strategy also coincides with broader company restructuring and layoffs that took place earlier in the year.
