Light novel author Matsuri Isora, widely celebrated for crafting the hit fantasy series Silent Witch, has officially pulled back the curtain on an entirely new literary project. Titled Bōkyaku no Curse Knight (Curse Knight of Oblivion), the upcoming novel venture is scheduled to arrive on November 13, bringing together a powerhouse creative pairing for fans of modern Japanese fantasy literature.
For this fresh creative endeavor, Isora is joined by illustrator Shirotaka, whose acclaimed visual work defined the atmospheric aesthetic of the mega-hit Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. Retail listings from online booksellers describe the narrative as a refreshing take on traditional knight fantasy, centering on a tenacious young protagonist defying impossible odds in the pursuit of heroism, all while wielding a hidden power classified as the ultimate curse.
Expanding the Author's Fantasy Legacy
This announcement arrives on the heels of phenomenal success for Isora's previous works. The original Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto web novel initially launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform back in February 2020. Kadokawa soon picked up the manuscript, launching a dedicated light novel imprint in June 2021 that recently published its 12th volume.
International audiences have similarly embraced the franchise through Yen Press under the localized title Secrets of the Silent Witch. The story follows Monica Everett, a peerless prodigy capable of executing Voiceless Magic who single-handedly defeated a legendary black dragon. Beneath her formidable reputation, however, lies an overwhelming shyness that drove her to master magic solely to avoid public speaking.
