In an unexpected cross-franchise musical collaboration, BanG Dream! rock outfit MyGO!!!!! has released an official cover of “Seishun Complex”, the iconic opening theme song from Bocchi the Rock!. Originally performed by Kessoku Band upon the anime's debut in October 2022, the track has become one of modern anime's most recognizable rock anthems.
A Clash of Modern Anime Rock
Formed within the BanG Dream! multimedia universe in 2022, MyGO!!!!! maintained anonymity until their fourth live stage performance in April 2023. The lineup features:
- Tomori Takamatsu (Voiced by Hina Youmiya) – Vocals
- Anon Chihaya (Voiced by Rin Tateishi) – Guitar
- Raana Kaname (Voiced by Hina Aoki) – Guitar
- Soyo Nagasaki (Voiced by Mika Kohinata) – Bass
- Taki Shiina (Voiced by Coco Hayashi) – Drums
The quintet previously led the television series BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!!, produced by 3DCG animation studio Sanzigen. The overarching storyline expanded further in January 2025 with Ave Mujica: The Die is Cast, while a third installment in the narrative arc is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
Meanwhile, the CloverWorks-produced Bocchi the Rock! is preparing for its highly anticipated second season under a newly appointed director, keeping enthusiasm for anime rock bands at an all-time high across the community.
