Talent management agency Kenyū Office reported on Monday that voice actress Asami Yaguchi passed away suddenly on Saturday. She was 47 years old. In accordance with the wishes of her surviving family, a private funeral service was arranged for close relatives.
According to reporting from Oricon News, the agency confirmed that Yaguchi passed away unexpectedly due to heart failure, though the agency's primary public statement did not specify the cause of death. Staff members at Kenyū Office memorialized Yaguchi as a foundational presence who supported the talent firm from its early inception, remembering her warmth, diligence in looking after colleagues, and her close professional bond with the late veteran voice actor Kazuya Tatekabe.
A Memorable Voice Across Decades
Born in Saitama Prefecture on July 31, 1979, Yaguchi entered the professional voice acting industry in 2002. She achieved widespread recognition among audiences of all ages as the endearing Kuchipatchi throughout the multimedia Tamagotchi franchise, voicing the character across multiple television installments including Let's Go! Tamagotchi (2007), Tamagotchi the Movie, Tamagotchi! Yume Kira Dream, and Tamagotchi! Miracle Friends.
Beyond children's media, Yaguchi showcased dynamic range across dramatic and action-heavy properties. Her notable credits include portraying Katina Tarask in Super Robot Wars OG: Divine Wars and Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector, Eleonore Von Wittenburg in Dies irae, Tarlant in Fantastic Children, and the young Sakata Gintoki in Sunrise's acclaimed anime adaptation of Gintama.
