During the PokémonXP event, The Pokémon Company International revealed that legendary British stop-motion powerhouse Aardman (known worldwide for Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep) is developing an original stop-motion animated series titled Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd and Pichu. The collaborative project will stream exclusively on Disney+ and broadcast on Disney XD starting in 2027.
Aardman Takes on Galar
Peter Lord, Co-founder and Creative Director at Aardman, noted that the narrative unfolds in a setting deeply inspired by the studio's home turf. The teaser spotlights creatures native to the U.K.-inspired Galar region from Pokémon Sword and Shield, highlighting playful slapstick scenarios featuring Sirfetch'd, Wooloo, and Pichu.
The production brings together seasoned creative talent at Aardman:
